DONALD G. MCMULLEN, SR., 84, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, January 2, 2007, at the Western Home Communities Elizabeth Martin Health Center in Cedar Falls. He was born May 25, 1922 in Manchester, Iowa, the son of Richard and Armella (Bitter) McMullen. Donald married Bernadette Trudeau on July 7, 1947 in Delhi, Iowa. She preceded him in death on February 3, 1997. Donald was a graduate of Manchester High School and served with the U. S. Army Air Corps in the Pacific Theatre of Operations during WW II. After the war, he worked at the S & S Firestone store in Cedar Falls and at A.Y. McDonald Supply in Waterloo for 28 years.

Survivors include a son, Jerry (Pam) McMullen of Cedar Falls; three daughters, Barbara (Peter) Kellams of St. Charles, Missouri, and Dee McMullen and Carol (Doug) Kienzle, both of Cedar Falls; seven grandchildren, Kris Kellams, Jennifer Petrus, Susie Field, Kate McMullen, Anne McMullen, Megan Kienzle and Emily Kienzle; two great grandchildren, Peter Kellams and Nathan Petrus; and a brother, Howard (Erma) McMullen of Mesa, Arizona.

Donald was preceded in death by his wife and parents, a brother, Richard McMullen, Jr, and a sister, Dorothy McMullen, who died in childhood.

Funeral services will be 10:30 am Friday, January 5, 2007, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with interment at Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Military honors will be conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49. Visitation will be 4—8:00 pm Thursday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, where a 4 pm Rosary service and a 7 pm Vigil service will be conducted. Visitation will also be one hour before the service at the church. A memorial fund will be established.
