April 9, 1937 — November 6, 2008
Survivors include his son, Mark (Lavonne Snitker) Dayton of Cedar Falls; two daughters, Denise (Kevin) Smith of Cedar Falls, Lynn Lange of Lansing, Iowa; four stepchildren, Colette Beatty of Cedar Falls, Melvin Beatty, Jr. of Kansas, Kelvin (Leslie) Beatty of Arizona and Colleen (Jeff) Brooks of Kansas; thirteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren; his Mother, Lillian Dayton of Cedar Falls, and his sister, Sonja (Lawrence) Greene of Arizona.
Don was preceded in death by his father and his wife.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, November 10, 2008 at St. John Lutheran Church with burial at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and for one hour prior to service time at the church. Memorials may be dircted to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association
