Dona Ferris

Dona M. Ferris, 81, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, April 19, 2012, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo. She was born November 25, 1930 in Waterloo, the daughter of Everett and Margie (Loy) Hilton. Dona married Dwight Ferris on September 1, 1950 in Washington, DC. Dona was a 1949 graduate of Waterloo East High School and worked for a short time with the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Washington DC. Survivors include her husband, Dwight Ferris, of Cedar Falls; two sons, Dan (Cindy) Ferris of Waterloo and Don (Lori) Ferris of Marion, Iowa; two daughters, Vicki (Galen) Beier of Denton, Texas and Pam (Dennis) Huffman of New Hartford, Iowa; ten grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and a sister, Barb (Paul) Mead of New Hartford. Dona was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Donald Richard Hilton. Services will be 10:30 am Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at First Christian Church in Cedar Falls, with burial at Garden of Memories in Waterloo. Visitation will be 58:00 pm Monday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and one hour before service at the church. A memorial fund will be established at a later date.
