Dixie C. Tyer

Dixie C. Tyer, 74, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, April 24, 2015, at her home. She was born October 30, 1940, in Galesburg, Illinois. Dixie was a 1958 graduate of Waterloo West High School. She was a social worker for the Department of Human Services in Black Hawk County for many years. Survivors include three sons, Troy (Debra) Kramer of Williston, North Dakota, Michael Kramer of Waterloo and Jeffrey Kramer of Cedar Falls; one daughter, Christine (Doug) Meacham of Cedar Falls; two granddaughters, Abbi Millett and Tara Coakley, and her significant other, Ronald Peterson. Dixie was preceded in death by her parents. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls. Memorials may be directed to the family.
