Derrick L Galle

Derrick Lee Galle, 15, of Waterloo, Iowa, died at Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo, Saturday, June 27, 2009. He was born the son of Dan and Heather (Beier) Galle on August 8, 1993 at Waterloo, Iowa. He died Saturday, June 27, 2009 at Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo after fighting a hard battle with cancer, surrounded by many family members and friends. Derrick was a ninth grade student at Valley Lutheran.

He is survived by his parents, Dan & Heather Galle, of Waterloo; one sister, Megan Galle, of Waterloo; Maternal grand parents, Steve and Patricia Fox, of Waterloo; Maternal great grandmother, Rose Beier, of Waterloo; paternal grand parents, Rande and Sandra Galle, of New Hartford and paternal great  grandfather, Merlyn L. Galle, of Denver, Iowa.

Derrick was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Duane Beier, maternal great grandfather, La Verne Beier and maternal great grandparents, Lawrence and Radah Corwin and Paternal great grandmother, Helen Galle.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at Grace Lutheran Church with burial in Garden of Memories, both in Waterloo. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls and one hour before service Wednesday at the church. Memorials may be directed to the Childrens Tumor Foundation.
