Delmar Chris Danielsen

Delmar Chris Danielsen, 93, of Cedar Falls passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, June 16, 2023.  He was born in Cedar Falls on September 14, 1929, son of Thorwald and Carrie (Jensen) Danielsen. Delmar's father passed away when he was 12 years old leaving his mother to raise their 6 boys and 4 girls alone.  Thorwald's brother, Bill, stepped in to help and soon became a loving step-father to the 10 children. Delmar graduated from Dike High School with the Class of 1946, then married Betty Jean Christensen on June 17, 1950, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Cedar Falls.  Delmar and Betty farmed until 1992 when they retired and moved to Cedar Falls.

Delmar was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Jean (Thomas) Dietrick, Leonard, Virginia Folchert, Wayne (Jane), and Melvin (Toni); and sister-in-law, Janeen Danielsen and brother-in-law, John Wilson.  He is survived by his wife of 73 years; 4 sons: Ron (Jo) of Denver, Iowa, David (Rob) of Kansas City, Missouri, Douglas of Cedar Falls, Rodney (Jacque) of Cedar Falls; 2 grandchildren: Steven (Jillian) Danielsen and Roxanne (Matt) Lintz both of Cedar Falls; and 2 great-grandchildren: Ellowyn and Raelyn; brothers, Dale and Paul; sisters, Marlene Danielsen and Janice (Daryl) Andersen; brother-in-law, Larry Folchert; sister-in-law, Joanne Danielsen; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Delmar's Celebration of Life Gathering will be from 3-5:00 pm on Wednesday, June 21, 2023.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Fredsville Lutheran Church and condolences left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.

Delmar was always a very hard working man.  In his spare time he enjoyed working on tractors, telling jokes and he never turned down a cup of coffee.  Delmar was a devoted family man and enjoyed spending time with them most of all.
