DELBERT LEE
MANROSS, 79, of Waterloo, died Friday, March 26, 2004 at Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas from injuries received in an automobile accident earlier in the day. Delbert was born August 26, 1924 at Littleton, Iowa, the son of Clyde and Lois (Greene) Manross. He married Darlene Wenger on May 26, 1943 in Waterloo, Iowa. She preceded him in death on April 19, 1990. Delbert married Bernice Schnock on July 27, 1991 in Cedar Falls, Iowa. He worked at Viking Pump Company in Cedar Falls for many years.
Delbert is survived by his wife, Bernice, of Waterloo; one son, Robert (Kay) Manross of Cornelius, North Carolina; three daughters, Joan Block of Waterloo, Debra (Darwin) Plagge of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Connie Lee (Mary) Richards of St. Louis, Missouri; three step-sons, Larry (Mary Sue) Schnock of Tyler, Georgia, Tom Schnock and Jim Howard, both of Macon, Georgia; two step-daughters, Janice (Jim) Stuber of Waterloo and Gail (Craig) Riesberg of Papillion, Nebraska; six grandchildren and nine step-grandchildren; a step-great-grandson, and one sister, Jean Johnson of Waterloo.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, parents and three brothers, Warren, Donald and Clarence Manross.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 3, 2004, at First Lutheran Church, with burial at Garden of Memories Cemetery, both in Waterloo. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to Pheasants Forever or the Cedar Bend Humane Society.
