DAVID C. MORSE,
86, of Cedar Falls died Tuesday, August 9, 2005 at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home. David was born August 12, 1918 at Clear Lake, Iowa the son of Bertram & Janet (Corbin) Morse. He married Thelma Otteson April 14, 1943 in New Hampton, Iowa. David served in the U.S. Army as a medic during WWII, from which he received a Purple Heart. He was the Branch Manager for Northrup King until retiring in 1983 and served as past 1st Vice President of Iowa Seed Dealers.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma of Cedar Falls; one son, David R. (Lois) Morse of Cedar Falls; one daughter, Diane (Richard) Ransom of Placitas, New Mexico; four grandchildren, Jeff Riker, Dan Riker, Laura Morse and Carrie Morse, six great grandchildren; one brother, Carland (Wilma) Morse of Decorah, Iowa and one sister, Tommy Lehman of New Hampton. David was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services were 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 13, 2005 at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home with burial in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. Military rites were conducted by the 113th Calvary of the Iowa Army National Guard. A memorial fund will be established.
