David V Crook

David V. "Dave" Crook, 64, of Waterloo, died Saturday, June 25, 2011, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo.  He was born January 31, 1947 in Oskaloosa, Iowa, the son of Verlin and Dorothy (Bird) Crook.  Dave married Linda Carpenter February 12, 1972 in Waterloo.  He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and was a salesman for over ten years with Wilson Distributing Company of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, retiring earlier this year.  Dave lived for his family and friends, and enjoyed fishing, boating and camping.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Crook, of Waterloo; his daughter, Katrina Crook-Murray, of Plainfield, Iowa; his parents, Verlin and Dorothy Crook, of Waterloo; three grandchildren, Cody, Tryston and Audrey; two brothers, Steven (Stephanie) Crook and Dan (Diana) Crook, both of Waterloo; numerous nieces and nephews, and his two pets, Sadie and Tessa.

Dave was preceded in death by a son, Brian Crook and a sister, Mary Jo Rhodes.

Services will be 10:30 am Thursday, June 30, 2011, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home.  Visitation will be 4—7:00 pm Wednesday, and one hour before the service, at the funeral home.  Military honors will be conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49.  Memorials may be directed to the family.  Online condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
