DAVID BETTS, was born April 6, 1953 in Cedar Falls, Iowa the son of Richard and Annie (Muller) Betts. After two previous marriages, he married Marilyn E. Norpel on May 20, 1995 in Cedar Falls. David was an overhead crane operator at Weissman/O'Neal Steel for 29 years. He died Monday, April 8, 2002 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home at the age of 49 years.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn of Waterloo; one son, Robert Lewis of Fairborn, Ohio; one daughter, Bobbie Jo Weekley of Oelwein, Iowa, four grandchildren, his parents, Richard and Annie Betts of Denver, Iowa; and his sister, Denise Pieper and her two children, Bryce & Nicole, of Iowa Falls, Iowa.
David was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and one sister, Deborah Betts.
Services were 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 11, 2002 at St. John Lutheran Church with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls. Memorials may be directed to the family.
