Daisy M Mcguire

Daisy Matilda McGuire, 91, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Chadron, Nebraska, died Thursday, August 20, 2009, at the Western Home Communities Elizabeth Martin Health Center in Cedar Falls. She was born August 14, 1918 in rural Chadron, the daughter of Harold and Elsie (Grimm) Durham. Daisy married A. Fay McGuire, and he preceded her in death on November 27, 1998. Before her retirement, she worked in the laundry department at Chadron Memorial Hospital. Daisy was a member of First Baptist Church, Kenwood Chapel, Chadron, Nebraska.

Survivors include her son, William (Esther) McGuire, of Waterloo; two grandchildren, Shannon McGuire of Cedar Falls and Kent Christian (Krista Sandstrom) McGuire of St. Paul, Minnesota; two great grandchildren, Soren Sandstrom McGuire and Birgitta Sandstrom McGuire, both of St. Paul; and a sister, Birdie Case, of Rushville, Nebraska.

Daisy was preceded in death by her parents and husband, a brother, David, and three sisters, Marvel, Mable and Clare Marie.

Graveside services will be at a later date at Greenwood Cemetery, Chadron, Nebraska. Memorials may be directed to First Baptist Church, Chadron, Nebraska or Cedar Valley Hospice.  Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
