D. Karen Danielson, 76, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, May 4, 2013, at the Western Home Communities Elizabeth Martin Health Center in Cedar Falls. She was born August 29, 1936 in North Platte, Nebraska, the daughter of Joseph Clayton and Marie (Bender) Tillotson. Karen married Floyd C. Danielson on January 24, 1954, in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He preceded her in death on January 8, 2013. Karen was a graduate of Cheyenne, Wyoming East High School and received her B.A. in History from the University of Northern Iowa in 1988. Survivors include her son, Lyle (Linda) Danielson, of Johnston, Iowa; three daughters, Lynn (Wayne) Hanson, of Menomonie, Wisconsin, Shelley (partner Debbie Young) Danielson, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Mary (Kent Scheel) Sieker, of Littleton, Colorado; seven grandchildren, Danielle (Scott) Hagberg, Erin (Justin Nelson) Danielson, Megan Danielson, Derek Danielson, Justin Sieker, Andrea Sieker , Jeremy Sieker, and two great grandchildren, Alexandria Conlin and Jarrett McFarlane. Karen was preceded in death by her parents and husband; a brother, Clayton Tillotson, and a sister, Ardetta Tillotson. Services will 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 25, 2013, at Ascension Lutheran Church, Waterloo, with a luncheon following at the John Deere Supervisors Club. Inurnment will be July 24, 2013, at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter, Iowa. Visitation will be one hour before service at the church.
