Craig D. DeBerg, 73, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, March 24, 2018, at UnityPoint Health Allen Hospital in Waterloo.  He was born March 4, 1945 in Grundy County, Iowa, the son of Joe and Catherine (Bakker) DeBerg.  Craig married Lois (Bergman) Cirksena on July 15, 1995 in Medford, Oregon.  He was a graduate of Dike High School and Northeast Missouri State University (Truman State University).  Craig was a teacher, banker and in retirement, a substitute teacher with the Cedar Falls School System.  He was a member of the Dike Lions Club. Craig was an avid Hawkeye fan, loved spending time with his grandchildren, and fishing with friends.  In his retirement, staff and students at Holmes Junior High brought him much joy.

Craig is survived by his wife, Lois DeBerg, of Cedar Falls; two step sons, Mark (Lisa) Cirksena of Florence, Kentucky and Brent (Rhonda) Cirksena of Cedar Falls; four grandchildren, Ali (Andrew) Tindall of Cedar Falls, Sam Cirksena of Cedar Falls, Ray and Ava Cirksena, both of Florence, Kentucky; a great grandchild, Eli Tindall, of Cedar Falls; one brother, Kenneth DeBerg, of Wellsburg, Iowa, two nephews, Mike and Curt DeBerg, and a niece, Tracy Beenken.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 29, 2018, at Orchard Hill Church in Cedar Falls.  Visitation will be 5—8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and one hour before service at the church.  Memorials may be directed to MDA (Muscular Dystrophy Association) or UnityPoint Hospice.  Condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
