Constance "Connie" Jean Firrone

Constance "Connie" Jean Firrone, 74, of Cedar Falls died Friday, July 21, 2023, at UnityPoint Health Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo.

Connie was born on October 14, 1948 in Krebs, OK, the daughter of Eugene and Dixie DeFrange. Connie married Thomas "Tom" Firrone on January 31, 2002 in Nashville, TN. She worked as a Library Circulation Supervisor for many years.

Connie loved reading, especially mystery novels, gardening and knitting. She made knitted hats which were sold in various stores in Cedar Falls. Connie also enjoyed traveling with her husband. She has been to all 50 states and various countries overseas; her favorite being Paris, France. Connie was a kind-hearted, selfless person who always put her four children first.

She is survived by her husband, Tom Firrone; four children, Gina (Jeff) Wilkins of AZ, David (Tina) Carpenter of WI, John (Dr. Sarah) Carpenter of IN, and Lara Paul of IN; nine grandchildren, Nicholas Wilkins, Faith Wilkins, Shelby Carpenter, Ashley Carpenter, Carmella Carpenter, Anthony Carpenter, Joseph Carpenter, Julia Carpenter, and Oliver Paul; one great-grandchild, Kadin Carpenter; two sisters, Dwila Roe and Cynthia (Roger) Johnston; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins

Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Dixie DeFrange.

Per Connie's wishes, a private celebration of life will be held in Wisconsin. The family requests, in lieu of memorial contributions, to celebrate her memory by enjoying something special, such as a good meal and drinks, with the people you love.
