Colleen Louise Perry, 71, of rural Cedar Falls, died at her home from complications of a stroke on Thursday, February 16, 2012. She was born February 4, 1941 in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Don and Helen (Dougherty) Westerfield. Colleen married Rollin Perry February 4, 1959 at Zion Lutheran Church in Waterloo. She was a graduate of Waterloo West High School and was a licensed realtor for Magee & Ott, Century 21 and Trapp Realtors, retiring in December of 2010. Colleen was devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren. She was an avid reader and enjoyed public television, dancing and music. Colleen was also an advocate for the protection and well-being of animals. Survivors include her husband, Rollin Perry, of Cedar Falls; a daughter, Emily (David) Thode, of Cedar Falls; two sons, Jeff (Louisa) Perry of Bondurant, Iowa and Nathan (Christine) Perry of Maple Grove, Minnesota, and eight grandchildren, Rollin, Maggie and Alan Perry, Erin, Jane and Annie Thode, Lily and Ben Perry. Colleen was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Carol Diekman. Services will be 11:00 am Tuesday, February 21, 2012, at St. John Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls, with burial at Fairfield Cemetery, rural Cedar Falls. Visitation will be 47:00 pm Monday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and one hour before service at the church. Memorials may be directed to the Cedar Bend Humane Society.
