CLAYTON M. TILLER, 84, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, January 30, 2007, at Western Home Communities Elizabeth Martin Health Center. Clayton was born October 11, 1922 in Cedar Falls, the son of David W. & Edith A. (Morgan) Tiller. He served in the US Army Air Force during WWII. Clayton married Elaine Frances Volker on April 16, 1947 at First United Methodist Church in Cedar Falls. He worked for Clay Equipment Company in Cedar Falls and then at Rath Packing Company in Waterloo for over 37 years, retiring in 1984. Clayton was a member of Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49. He was the great grandson of George W. & Mary (Melrose) Hanna, co-founders of City of Waterloo.

Survivors include three sons, Mike (Dianne) Tiller of Cedar Falls, Steve (Zona) Tiller of Johnston, Iowa and Jerry Tiller of Cedar Falls; one daughter, Sandy (Dale) Christie of Cedar Falls; nine grandchildren, Robb, Scott, Jeremy, Ben, Matt, Ryan and Ashley Tiller, Nathan and Amanda Christie; seven great grandchildren, Tarrell & Nikyah Christie, Hunter, Brody, Gabe, Laila and Bianca Tiller; and one sister, Shirley Kirkle of Cedar Falls. Clayton was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one grandson, Jamie Tiller, and one brother-in-law, Robert E. Kirkle.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 3, 2007, at the Western Home Chapel. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery with full military honors conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49. Public visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home and for one hour prior to service time at the Western Home Chapel. Memorials may be directed to the family.
