Clayton William Abkes

Clayton William Abkes, 71, Brighton, Colorado died Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at the Collier Hospice Center, Wheat Ridge, Colorado.

Clayton was born January 18, 1954 in Cedar Falls to Virgil and Ethel (Blum) Abkes.  He graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1972.

Clayton is survived by his brothers, Douglas (Ione) of Waterloo, Bruce (Tracie) Abkes of Cedar Rapids and Alan (Kathi) Abkes of Cedar Falls; brother-in-law, David Combs; uncle, Ted Abkes; and extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Ethel (Blum) Abkes; sister, Vicki Combs.

There will be a visitation for Clayton from 11:00-1:00 PM on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home followed by committal in Fairview Cemetery, Cedar Falls.
