Christine M. Floss

Christine M. Floss, 66, of Cedar Falls, IA, was welcomed into eternal rest on July 21, 2024, at Allen Memorial Hospital, in Waterloo, IA.

Christine was born to Joseph Mullesch and Gloria (Kalvig) Ihnen on January 14, 1958, in Waterloo, IA. She was the second youngest of seven children in a very loud and equally loving family. She grew up and went to school in Waterloo, IA. Christine met Gary Floss, got married on November 19, 1983, and was later divorced.

Christine dedicated her life to raising her three children to be as strong, stubborn, honest, loyal, and kind as she was and saw this as her greatest accomplishment. To support her children, she worked as an auto body repair estimator first at Rydell Chevrolet, then Iowa Auto Rebuilders. She retired in 2022 to spend her time with her family and friends, obsess over her yard, help at the bins, and enjoy her four grandchildren.

Christine is survived by her three children, Joseph (Nicole) Floss of Cedar Falls, IA, Brandy (Chris) Hennessy, of Hiawatha, IA, and Kim (Michael) Sharp, of Dike, IA; her four grandchildren, Jameson John Lewis and Nathan James Hennessy of Hiawatha, IA, and Eleanor Christine and Brady James Sharp of Dike, IA; sisters, Barb Kruse, Anne Stratton, and Milda Mullesch, all of Cedar Falls, IA; brothers, Peter Mullesch of Silvis, IL, and Larry Mullesch of Rock Falls, IL; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Mullesch; mother, Gloria Ihnen; stepfather, Marvin Ihnen; brother, Ray Mullesch; brother-in-law, Gene Kruse; niece, Karrie Kruse; nephew, Michael Mullesch; great-niece Ava Culjat; and great-nephew, Parker Culjat.

Visitation will be held from 2:00-5:00pm on Thursday, July 25, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls, with memorial service at 5:00pm. Please join the family for a reception immediately following the service at the Cedar Falls Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 4074 (2125 W. Lone Tree Rd). Memorial contributions may be directed to the Family of Christine Floss for future designation.

Chris was the best mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, daughter, and friend anyone could ask for and will be dearly missed by those who were lucky enough to know her.
