Chris C. Bolhuis, 81, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, died Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo. He was born August 16, 1935 in Grundy County, Iowa, the son of Lawrence & Rena (Muller) Bolhuis. He married Lucy Hillegas March 16, 1956 at the United Methodist Church in Greene, Iowa. She preceded him in death August 1, 2013. Chris worked at Benton's Ready Mix in the 1960's and also was a farmer. He was a member of the New Hartford Lions Club.

Survivors include two sons, Chris (Patty) Bolhuis and Fred (Dee) Bolhuis, both of Cedar Falls; his daughter, Judy Bolhuis of Dike, Iowa; eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren; his sister, Dorothy Holmes of West Branch, Iowa and several nieces & nephews.

Chris was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and two brothers-in-law, Bob Hillegas and Jim Holmes.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 31, 2017 at St. John Lutheran Church with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home and one hour prior to service time at the church. Memorials may be directed to the church or Cedar Valley Hospice. Condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
