Cheryl Timion

Cheryl Day Shoesmith Timion, 77, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, October 28, 2017, in St. Louis Park, Minnesota.  She was born May 7, 1940 in Jefferson, Iowa, the daughter of Max and Hattie (Short) Shoesmith.  Cheryl married Larry Timion on June 9, 1962 in Waterloo, Iowa.  He preceded her in death on March 16, 2012.  Cheryl earned her MA degree from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts.  She was an educator for many years in Missouri, Connecticut and Iowa.  Cheryl was a member of PEO Chapter KL and several community organizations.

She is survived by her three sons, Tom (Kristy) Timion of Clinton, Iowa, Toby (Mary Susan) Timion of Chanhassen, Minnesota and Tyler Timion of Waterloo; three grandchildren, Graham, Paige and Brock Timion, and two brothers, Reginald (Linda) Shoesmith of Bettendorf, Iowa and Kim (Sandi) Shoesmith of San Diego, California.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 4, 2017, at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Cedar Falls, with inurnment in the church columbarium.  Visitation will be 4 — 7:00 p.m. Friday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and one hour before service at the church.  Memorials may be directed to the church or the Dept. of Teaching at UNI's College of Education.  Condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
