CHARLOTTE HEMPEN was born August 11, 1912 in Wellsburg, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Hermine (Koch) Giesking. She married Albert Hempen on February 24, 1932 in Wellsburg, Iowa. Charlotte died Friday, February 23, 2001 at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home, at 88 years of age.
She is survived by her husband Albert, of Cedar Falls; her daughter, Eunice Hempen of Cedar Falls; two brothers, William Giesking of Grundy Center, Iowa and Alvin Giesking of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and many nieces and nephews. Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Carl Giesking.
Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 27, 2001 at Nazareth Lutheran Church Chapel in Cedar Falls. Interment was at St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery in rural Wellsburg, Iowa. A memorial fund will be established.
