CHARLES D. TRUMAN was born August 3, 1928 in Tipton, Iowa, the son of George Truman, Sr. and Golda Bernet. He married Helen Vaughn and they later divorced. Charles married Frances Crosby Lund and they later divorced. He was an equipment dealer for Clay Equipment Company in both Cedar Falls and Wisconsin for many years. Charles also farmed near Shell Rock, Iowa until his retirement. He died Friday, April 6, 2001 at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa, at 72 years of age.
Charles is survived by his daughter, Nancy Wedemeier and her husband Duane of Waterloo; two grandchildren, Annette Hyde, and her husband Tom, of Fairbank, Iowa, and Marshall Wedemeier of Waterloo; his brother, Virgil Truman, and his wife Sandra, of Lawler, Iowa, and two sisters, Lucille Carrier and Lois Leffler. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, George Truman, Jr. and Robert Truman, and a sister, Marie.
Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2001, at Grace Lutheran Church in Waterloo. Interment will be at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens in Cedar Falls. Memorials may be directed to Allen Memorial Hospital.
