Charles "Charlie" A. Isley, 81, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, March 1, 2011, at Ravenwood  Nursing & Rehab Center in Waterloo. He was born February 2, 1930 in Cedar Falls, the son of Lester and Ida (Linde) Isley. He married Mary Lou James January 22, 1955  in Washington Chapel, Cedar Falls. Charlie was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the United Sates Army. He graduated from Cedar Falls High School. Charlie worked for the Credit Bureau in Cedar Falls and Waterloo for 24 years, retiring in 1988. He loved to fish and camp and was a volunteer coach for Optimist Baseball for twenty years.  He is survived by his wife Lou of Waterloo; two sons, Ron (Mickey) Isley of Okinawa, Japan and Brian (Cathy) Isley of Mediapolis, Iowa; four grandchildren, Eric, Leanne, Leif and Anthony, and one brother Larry (Judy) Isley of Cedar Falls.  Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Susan Isley, one sister, Evelyn Stewart and two brothers, Robert and James Isley.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 7, 2011 at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral home, Cedar Falls with  burial in Waterloo Memorial Park, Waterloo. Military honors will be conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49. Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, March 6, 2011 at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, Cedar Falls. Memorials may be directed to St. Ansgar Lutheran Church, Waterloo or Cedar Valley Hospice. Online condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
