Charles F. Di Domenico, 69, of Raymond, Iowa, died Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. He was born April 29, 1945 in Worcester, Massachusetts, the son of Charles P. and Rita (Ahasey) Di Domenico. Charles married Kathryn K. Chapin Spragg on December 16, 2006 in Citrus Springs, Florida. He graduated from Oxford Massachusetts High School and attended the University of Maryland. Charles served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a law enforcement detective in Washington, D.C. for twenty years, retiring in 1990. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Di Domenico, of Raymond; two sons, Furey (Tabatha) Di Domenico of Ormond Beach, Florida and Christopher (Crystal) Di Domenico of Mechanicsville, Maryland; three grandchildren, Isaac, Cora and Braddock Di Domenico, and a sister, Susie Shilinski, of Massachusetts. Charles was preceded in death by his parents. Services will be 3:00 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2014, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls, with inurnment 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 3, at Garden of Memories in Waterloo. Military honors will be conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49. Memorials may be directed to Wounded Warriors. Condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
