Charles Christiansen

Charles C. Christiansen, 76, of Dike, Iowa, died Wednesday, August 20, 2014, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo. Charles was born December 8, 1937, in Cedar Falls, Iowa, the son of Herbert & Eleanor (Brandhorst) Christiansen. He married Erma Andreessen June 26, 1956 at Stout Reformed Church, in Stout, Iowa. Charles farmed in the Dike area, drove school bus for the Dike-New Hartford School District and later worked at the Dike Lumber Yard. Survivors include his wife, Erma Christiansen of Dike; a son, Douglas Christiansen of Cedar Falls; three daughters, Denise (Tim) Nagel, of Clarion, Iowa, Cheryl (Joseph) Kremer, of Arlington, Iowa and Carla (Dan) Johnson, of Nevada, Iowa, twelve grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Charles was preceded in death by his parents Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 25, 2014, at Orchard Hill Church in Cedar Falls, with burial at Stout Cemetery in Stout. Visitation will be 25:00 p.m. Sunday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and one hour before service at the church. Memorials may be directed to the church.
