Charles Lynn Berggren, of Cedar Falls, IA died in his home in Cedar Falls, IA on Saturday, January 25th., 2025, a day after his 81st. birthday.
Lynn was born Jan. 24th, 1944 in Cedar Falls, IA, the son of Paul D. and Hazel I (Hunt) Berggren.
Lynn graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1962. He then attended UNI for 2 yrs. He worked at Olson Boathouse for a few years, then at John Deere - Waterloo for 36 years in their Manufacturing Engineering Department as a method set-up man. He married Jacqueline (Jackie) Moore June 24th, 1966 in Cedar Falls. After retiring, he and Jackie delivered Winnebago RV's from their factory in Forest City, IA to dealerships all across the US and Canada. Lynn also worked part time for the US. Census Bureau doing various monthly surveys throughout the area. He very much enjoyed meeting and talking with new people.
Lynn enjoyed camping, fishing, motorcycle riding, gem faceting, and chain making for jewelry, along with small engine repair. He delighted in his grandchildren, hoping to spark an interest in coin collecting. Lynn and his wife Jackie have been lifelong members of Cedar Heights Community Presbyterian Church where he served as a deacon and later as an elder.
Lynn is survived by his wife Jackie Berggren and two sons: David L. Berggren, and Benjamin P. (Cherie) Berggren of Cedar Falls, IA. Granddaughters: Jamee Maree Berggren of Anamosa and Brooklynn M. Marquand of Waterloo, and Grandson: Matthew Phillips of Davenport, IA, along with two great-grandchildren, and Sister: Jessie (Bruce) Sorensen of Cedar Falls, and several nieces and nephews.
Lynn was preceded in death by his parents and his two brothers: P. Dow and Dean L. Berggren.
Services will be held at Cedar Heights Community Presbyterian Church on Saturday, Feb 1, 2025. A viewing will be held at 10 am, Funeral at 11 am, and a small luncheon will immediately follow the funeral. Graveside services will be held at Greenwood Cemetery at 1:00 pm in Cedar Falls. Memorials may be directed to the family. Condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
