Cecil Kepler

Cecil C. "Bud" Kepler, 89, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, March 24, 2016, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo. He was born July 17, 1926, the son of Cecil R. and Catherine (Meier) Kepler in Eagle Grove, Iowa. Bud married Kathryn L. Dolan July 10, 1948 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Cedar Falls and she preceded him in death December 11, 2009. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in World ll. Bud was a tanker driver for Carnation for 20 years and then became head custodian at North Cedar Elementary School, retiring in 1991.

Bud is survived by three daughters, several grandchildren and great grandchildren; one brother, James (Thelma) Kepler, of Eagle Grove, Iowa; three sisters, Lorraine Eikenberry, of North Carolina, Bernadine Voss, of Arizona, and Sara Noss, of Iowa; his private care giver, Betty Smith and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a sister, Marjorie Hogan.

Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 26, 2014 at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with burial at Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Military honors will be conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post # 49. Visitation will be one hour before services at the funeral home.
