Cathy Rae Yoder-Bemer

Cathy Rae Yoder-Bemer, 68, of Cedar Falls, passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at Ravenwood Specialty Care in Waterloo.

Cathy was born in Cedar Rapids on January 8, 1957, the daughter of the late Jerry and Ruth (Webb) Mick. She graduated from Linn-Mar High School in 1975 and started working construction. She assisted in building the levees on the Cedar River in the Waterloo/Cedar Falls area, something that she was proud of. Cathy married Jim Yoder but later divorced. Cathy's work ethic eventually led her to Raytheon Technologies (now Collins Aerospace) working in the confidential security clearance area until her early retirement.

Cathy loved to work on her farm, taking care of her apple orchard and making her favorite, apple butter. She was proud to donate portions of her farmland for the purpose of growing crops to help the Northeast Iowa Foodbank fill their pantries. Aside from Cathy's charitable contributions, she was also known for being a huge movie buff.

Cathy is survived by her three sons, Brandon (Cat) Yoder, James Yoder and Andrew (Emily) Yoder; one grandchild, Caleb Yoder; two siblings, Gary (Sally) Aiken and Deb Klinger; and nieces and nephews, Stephanie (Jordan) Walter, and Dennis and Jenifer Bemisdarfer. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Pam Aiken; and biological father, Fred Aiken.
