Cathleen Kay Byers Taylor

Cathleen "Cathy" Byers Taylor peacefully passed away on August 5, 2025.

Cathy was born on June 28, 1956, in Cedar Falls, Iowa, where she began a life marked by resilience and strength.

She is survived by her three children: Jeffrey Lorenz of Waterloo, Iowa; Michele Kofoot (Matthew) of Algona, Iowa; and Jennifer Hamilton (Cory) of Mebane, North Carolina; and her sister, Yvonna "Vonnie" Hoskins. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Juliann, Landen, and Kaleb Kofoot; Paeton and Heggen Hamilton; and one great-grandchild, November Kofoot-Lappe.

Cathy was also a proud aunt to many nieces and nephews that she adored: Wendy (Mike) Frost, Dessa (Jamie) Randall, Shellia (Lynn) Price, Kaylyn Hoskins, Shauna (Adam) Williams, Josh Hoskins, and Jeremiah Hoskins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Charlene Byers; and grandparents, Vivian and Howard Patterson; and Ira and Leoma Byers.

A funeral service will be held at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls, Iowa, on August 16th. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., with services and burial to follow directly after.
