Catherine Marie Larsen

Catherine Marie Larsen, 75, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, August 21, 2012, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo. She was born November 28, 1936, in Vinton, Iowa, the daughter of Henry & Anna (Ake) Todd. Catherine was a housekeeper for Black Hawk Hotel for 25 years, Ramada Inn for four years and did the laundry at Windsor Nursing & Rehab for four years, retiring in 2003. She married Glenn Truesdell December 15, 1956, in Vinton, Iowa and they later divorced. She married Kenneth Truesdell September 20, 1960 and they later divorced. On December 14, 1968, she married Alvin "Pat" Hans Larsen, Sr. He preceded her in death May 28, 2002. Survivors include four sons, David (Chris) Truesdell, of Cedar Rapids, Duane Truesdell of Tampa, Florida, James Truesdell of Waterloo, and Kenny (Cindy) Truesdell, of Lithia, Florida; two daughters, Anita Truesdell of Waterloo and Marie (David) Weise, of Marion, Iowa; two stepsons, Alvin Larsen, Jr., of Knoxville, Iowa and Carl Larsen, of Evansdale, Iowa; three stepdaughters, Cindy Spooner of Waterloo, Mary Mast of Evansdale and Charlotte White of Evansdale; a daughter in law, Sheryl Larsen, of Waterloo; a foster daughter, Shelly Carpenter of Waterloo; many grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, and her brother, Richard Todd, of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Catherine was preceded in death by her parents and husband; two stepsons, James & Charles Larsen; two great grandchildren; two brothers, Ralph Todd and David Todd, in infancy; and two sisters, Virginia Hinkle and Ruth Todd, in infancy. Services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 24, 2012, at the Cedar Falls Eagle's Club, 2125 W. Lone Tree Road. Visitation will be from 5 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home.
