Carol Marie Renner, 83, of Cedar Falls, slipped into the loving grace of God with her loving family around her, on Saturday, December 29, 2007, at the Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community in Waverly. She was born January 23, 1924 on the family farm in rural Cedar Falls, the daughter of Herman and Anna (Arnold) Siepert. Carol married Clark E. Renner on April 23, 1944 in Cedar Falls. He preceded her in death on June 3, 2006. Carol was a bank teller at Cedar Falls Trust & Savings for two years and then moved to Cleveland, Ohio with her husband where she was a secretary at the U.S. Air Corps Testing Facility. She and her husband returned to Cedar Falls and together farmed for many years. Carol was past Worthy Matron of the Janesville Order of Eastern Star, Equity Chapter 6 and was a member of the Cedar Falls American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include her daughter, Robin Ann Gaines, of Janesville; two sons, Rand E. (Sandi) Renner of Waverly and Brad (Debra) Renner of New Hartford; eleven grandchildren, six great grandchildren and two sisters, Evelyn (Walter) Church of Missouri and Marion Riordan of Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents and husband, a brother, Donald Siepert, and her son-in-law, Joseph W. Gaines.

Funeral service will be 10:30 am Wednesday, January 2, 2008, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls, with interment at Washington Chapel Cemetery in rural Janesville. Visitation will be 2—6:00 pm Tuesday, January 1, at the funeral home, where a 5:00 pm Eastern Star service will be conducted. Visitation also one hour before service on Wednesday. Memorials may be directed to the family.
