Carol Charles-Rohlf

Carol Charles-Rohlf, 51, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, November 14, 2010, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City.  She was born April 17, 1959 in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Robert and Mary (Pitzenberger) Charles.  Carol graduated from Waterloo Columbus High School and received her Associate Degree in Fashion Merchandising from the Chicago International Academy of Design.  She received both her BA Degree in Social Work (LMSW) and her MA Degree in Mental Health Counseling (LMHC) from the University of Northern Iowa, and was a Registered Play Therapist.  Carol was in private practice at The People Place in Cedar Falls and served four years as President of the Iowa Mental Health Counselors Association.

Survivors include her two daughters, Madeline and Chloe Rohlf, of Cedar Falls and their father, John Rohlf, of Cedar Falls; her mother, Mary Charles, of Waterloo; three sisters, Julie Charles of Aurora, Colorado, Sue Koontz of Waterloo and Terri (Greg) Churchill of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; three brothers, Steve (Deb) Charles of Fairfield, Connecticut, Frank Charles of Golden, Colorado and Fred (Holly) Charles of Springville, Iowa, and nine nieces and nephews, Court, Tyler and Connor Charles, Graham and Alexandra Churchill, Nick and Jessica Charles, and Nathan and Caryn Charles.

Carol was preceded in death by her father.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be 2:00 pm Wednesday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with inurnment at a later date.  Visitation will be one hour prior to service.  A memorial fund will be established.  The family requests that those attending the service wear bright, uplifting clothes.  Online condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com .
