Carlton F. Brockman. 83, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, August 18, 2008, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. He was born August 23, 1924 in Clarksville, Iowa, the son of Martin W. and Viola (Schwartz) Brockman. Carl married Nancy Narum on March 29, 1952 in Waterloo. He graduated from Clarksville High School and served in the US Army Signal Corps during WW II. Carl graduated from Gates Business College and the University of Iowa School of Business. He was a system analyst with John Deere & Company, retiring in 1984. Carl loved gardening, camping, sailing, square dancing and table tennis. He and Nancy traveled for twenty-two years in both the United States and Canada.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy, of Cedar Falls; a son, Cliff (Cindy) Brockman, of Waverly, Iowa; a daughter, Ann (Norman) Bryan, of Cedar Falls; four grandchildren, Jenny Brockman, Brad (Marlena) Bakker, Ben Brockman, and Rachel Brockman; and a sister, Jeanette (DeWayne) Guernsey, of Waterloo.

Carl was proceeded in death by his parents.

Services will be 10:30 am Wednesday, August 20, 2008, at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home Chapel, with burial at Lynwood Cemetery in Clarksville. Visitation will be one hour before service at the Lutheran Home Chapel. Memorials may be directed to Christian Crusaders and the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home.
