CARL PAUL LEHNE, 66, of Cedar Falls and formerly of Walker, Iowa died of cancer Monday, May 6, 2002, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo, Iowa.
Carl was born July 24, 1935 in St. Paul, Minnesota the son of Rev. Fred and Mae (Olson) Lehne. He married Gerry Breyer on May 29, 1959 at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Fernando, Minnesota. Carl was a television technician having worked for KGAN Television in Cedar Rapids for 43 years retiring in August 1998. He was past president of the Urbana School Board of which he served on for 17 years and was a charter member of the Urbana Lion's Club.
Survivors include his wife, Gerry, of Cedar Falls, one son, John Lehne and his wife, Diane, of Des Moines, Iowa; two daughters, Jody Runge and her husband, Dave of Keystone, Iowa, and Lynn Klein and her husband, Todd of Cedar Falls; eight grandchildren, and two sisters, Betty Reml of Sibley, Iowa and Ruth Joy of Clintonville, Wisconsin.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services were 11 a.m. Thursday, May 9, 2002, in the Faith & Life Center at St. John Lutheran Church, 715 College St. Cedar Falls, Iowa with cremation following the funeral. Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice or St. John Lutheran Church.
