Carl P Gutknecht

Carl Paul Gutknecht, 80, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, September 1, 2009, at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home.

He was born November 16, 1928 at Hudson, Iowa, the son of Ernest and Matilda (Engel) Gutknecht. Carl graduated from New Hartford High School in 1947. He married Jeanette Cook and they were later divorced. He married Dorothy Woodworth and she preceded him in death.

Carl is survived by one son, Dan (Leah) Gutknecht, of Cedar Falls; three daughters, Carla (Frank) Jonte, of Cedar Falls, Linda (PA) Toms, of Rockford, Illinois, and Lori (Ben) Behnami, of Ankeny; three step daughters, Janette Brown, of Elk Run Heights, Becky (Jerry) Lathrop, of Waterloo, and Robin Allen, of MN and one sister, Florence Wrede, of Hudson.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, one brother, Ernest Gutknecht and one sister, Elsie Watters.

Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday September 4, 2009 at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, rural Hudson, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to Zion Lutheran Church or Cedar Valley Hospice.
