Calvin K Elliott

Calvin K. Elliott, 84, of Waverly, and formerly of New Hartford, died Thursday, September 24, 2009 at Bartels Lutheran Home in Waverly. He was born October 15, 1924, at Aplington, Iowa the son of Alton & Myrtle (Whitney) Elliott. Calvin married Gladys J. Rittgers on July 5, 1947 at Aplington. He graduated from New Hartford High School. Calvin was a farmer and carpenter in the New Hartford area for many years, retiring in 1995. He was saved on October 22, 1947, when he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior.

Calvin is survived by his wife, Gladys, of Waverly; one son, Barton M. (Barbara) Elliott, of Mt Holly, North Carolina; two daughters, Andrea (Jim) Carlock, of Waterloo, and Brenda (Danny) Steenhard, of New Hampton; eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren, and one sister, June Wulfensperger, of Cedar Falls.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Paul, Lyle, Lynn, and Alton Elliott; four sisters, Maxine Harken, Lois Stukenberg, Audrey Wilson and Jean Cuvelier.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 28, 2009 at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be 3-6 p.m. Sunday, September 27, 2009 at the funeral home and one hour before services on Monday. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery, New Hartford. Memorials will be established.
