Burton "Joe" Ford Renner, Jr.

Burton F. Renner, Jr (also known as Joe), 88, of Cedar Falls, died February 26, 2025 at Allen Memorial Hospital. He was born June 19, 1936 in Cedar Falls, Iowa, the son of Burton, Sr. and Zatha (Muir) Renner. Joe was united in marriage to Marcia Lauraine Wolf, on October 2, 1955 at Washington Chapel United Methodist Church in rural Cedar Falls. Joe graduated from Janesville High School. He worked at Viking Pump after they were first married until joining the family farming operation. Later, he worked at the American Martyr Retreat House before retiring. He was a member of Equity Lodge #131 A.F. & A.M. in Janesville, was Past Worthy Patron of the Janesville Order of Easter Star, Equity Chapter #6 and had nearly 44 years of sobriety.

Survivors include his children Debra Jo (George) Milligan of West Des Moines, Russell Wayne (Jan) Renner of Cedar Falls, and Lisa Lynn (Mike) Smidt of West Des Moines; three grandchildren Tayler Jo Renner, Jordan Thomas (Megan) and Renner Joseph Breitbach; and two great grandchildren, Jameson Mick Harnett and Cohen Renner Breitbach with number three due in September.  Joe was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and three brothers Clark, Dale, and Robert Renner.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 3, 2025 at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls, with interment at Washington Chapel Cemetery in rural Cedar Falls. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 2, 2025 at the funeral home and one hour before the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for future designation.
