BRITTA KAREN BUHRMASTER, 88, of Waterloo died Sunday, August 22, 2004 at Covenant Medical Center. Britta was born April 26, 1916, the daughter of Fred and Lillian (Carlson) Smith, at Des Moines, Iowa. She married Ralph K. Buhrmaster January 21, 1936, in Knoxville, Tennessee. He preceded her in death on September 2, 1966. She and her husband owned and operated Waterloo Prosthetic Co.
Britta is survived by her son, Stan (Jean) Buhrmaster of Janesville, Iowa; two grandchildren, Jacquelyn (Carl) Yokem of Cedar Falls, Iowa and Robert (Joanna) Swiatly of Cedar Falls, Iowa; four great grandchildren, Dylan Buhrmaster, Kody Bell, Abby and Sara Swiatly; one niece, Michelle (Martin) Gorgas of Des Moines, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother, Fred Smith Jr.
Funeral services were 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 25, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls. Interment will be at Garden of Memories in Waterloo, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the family.
