BRIAN D. EHLERT, 49, died at his home in Cedar Falls, Thursday, January 4, 2007. He was born in Cedar Falls, Iowa March 1, 1957, the son of Harlan and Elsie (Kearney) Ehlert. Brian graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1976 and attended Iowa State University. He married Esther Chapman and they were later divorced. Brian was employed at Dawson Foundry and then became a carpenter, working for Keith Wilcox Construction and many years for Magee Construction. He also served in the Iowa National Guard.
Brian is survived by his parents, Harlan and Elsie Ehlert, of Cedar Falls and one sister, Nora (Paul) Johnston, of Cedar Falls; two nephews, Todd (Nicole) Johnston of Scotia, New York and Stephen Johnston of Ames, Iowa, and his paternal grandmother, Sophie Ehlert, of Cedar Falls.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 12, 2007, at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with burial in Fairview Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, January 11, 2007, at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to the family.
