Blue Schmitt

Blue Aaron Schmitt, 39, of Denver, Iowa, died Friday, April 17, 2015, from injuries suffered in a single vehicle accident on Hwy. 3, west of Luxemburg, Iowa. He was born October 23, 1975 in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Bill Back and Kim Schmitt. Blue married Christine Stanton on October 25, 2013. He was a tool & dye maker with Black Hawk Engineering and manufactured leather goods. Blue is survived by his wife, Christine Schmitt, of Cedar Falls; three stepsons, Cody, Tanner and Jacob Shepard, all of Cedar Falls; his mother, Kim Schmitt, of Denver; maternal grandmother, Patricia Schmitt; paternal grandmothers, Laurel Back and Lucille Sullivan, and special cousins, Zack and Mayah Back, both of Waterloo. He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Back; his dad, Tim Sullivan; maternal grandfather, Rich Schmitt, and his paternal grandfathers. Services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 2, 2015, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour before service at the funeral home.
