Beverly L Mccarter

Beverly Lorraine McCarter, 86, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, September 23, 2011, at the Western Home Communities Elizabeth Martin Health Center in Cedar Falls.  She was born September 11, 1925 in St. Paul, Minnesota, the daughter of Joseph and Ida Marie (Johnson) Flaherty.  Beverly married John L. McCarter on May 27, 1944 in Seattle, Washington.  He preceded her in death on March 17, 2002.  Beverly was a business partner with her husband at McCarter Excavating.

Survivors include a son, John L. (Mary) McCarter, of Dike, Iowa; two daughters, Cathey K. (Ron) Brown and Nancy (David Zeien) Judas, both of Cedar Falls; nine grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild; and a son-in-law, Larry Simmons, of Waterloo, Iowa.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Donnie Simmons, and a brother, Joseph Flaherty.

Private family graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday October 1, 2011 at Fairview Cemetery in Cedar Falls.
