Beverly Dawn Brandt, 85, of Cedar Falls, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, April 4, 2024. She was born January 26, 1939, to Bruno and Norma Wessels. Beverly was born again and received Jesus Christ as her personal Savior, on February 25, 1952. Realizing her sin and need of salvation, she came to understand the truth of Romans 5:6, "Christ died for the ungodly ". Beverly graduated from Shell Rock High School in 1957, and started working for Lutheran Mutual as a secretary. She married Darrel Brandt, on September 29, 1961, in Cedar Falls.
Beverly's greatest joys were found in her relationship with her Savior, Jesus Christ and with her family and many others she poured herself into. Her love for Christ was evident in how she lived her life; selflessly while always caring for others. She volunteered her time on many occasions at the Cedar Falls Gospel Hall and in earlier times coordinated numerous years of children's outreach meetings at her favorite vacation destination on Leech Lake in Minnesota. Hospitality and selfless acts of kindness to many were Beverly's special gift. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her with the assurance of seeing her again, one day, in heaven.
Beverly is survived by her husband of 62 years, Darrel Brandt; two sons, Kevin (Lisa) Brandt and Kerwin (Lisa) Brandt; five grandchildren, Jonathon (Misty) Brandt, Lauren (Mark) Rohan, Conner (Larissa) Brandt, Carson Brandt, and Ashtyn Brandt; three great-grandchildren, Klayton Zimmerman-Brandt, Riley Rohan, and Brooks Rohan; siblings, Duane (Joan) Wessels, Dean (Elaine) Wessels, and Bonnie Tozer; brother-in-law, Russell Nesbit; sisters-in-law, Meredith Wessels and Elaine Wessels; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Donald Wessels in infancy, Barbara Nesbit, Darrell Wessels, and Dale Wessels.
The family wishes to express a special thanks to Drs. Cano and Deen and the medical staff for their direction, compassion and care during mom's stay at UnityPoint Health Allen Hospital.
Beverly's visitation will be held from 5-8pm on Monday, April 8th, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls. Visitation will continue at the Cedar Falls Gospel Hall the following day from 9:30-10:30am with funeral service to start at 10:30am. Please join the family for a luncheon immediately following in the Cedar Falls Gospel Hall Fellowship room. Graveside services will begin at 2pm at Oak Hill Cemetery in Parkersburg.
