Betty is survived by one daughter, Kathy (Tom) Thompson, of Cedar Falls; one son-in-law, Ron (Pat) Mythaler, of Palm Coast, Florida; five grandchildren, Tammie (Dave) Blake, Marci (Ken) Gerrish, Jodi Tetley, James (Kathy) Thompson and Kris (John) Dircks; nine great grandchildren, three step great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; and three sisters, Alice Reiter of Waterloo, Juanita (Bud) Bowman of Hudson and Shirley Elsberry of Waterloo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Earl Huggins, Orville Lee, Ben Hatch and George Strumpel; one daughter, Pam Mythaler; one granddaughter, Shelly Thompson, and two brothers, Robert and Frank Van Sickle.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 10, 2008, at Ascension Lutheran Church and burial will be at Waterloo Memorial Park, both in Waterloo. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday, November 9, 2008, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls. Memorials may be directed to Ascension Lutheran Church or to Cedar Valley Hospice.
