Betty A. Meewes, 96, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, August 18, 2017 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo. Betty was born October 12, 1920 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the daughter of William H. & Minnie (Verschoor) Marten. She married Warren Meewes May 29, 1947 in Reinbeck, Iowa. He preceded her in death February 4, 2010. Betty was a member of the Eastern Star and was the historian for the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Ladies Golf Association.

Survivors include her son Rick (Michele) Meewes of Peoria, Arizona; her daughter, Karilyn Wood of Waterloo; four grandchildren, David Wood, Paul Wood, Michael (Lyndsey) Meewes and Nicole (Jake) Lovelace; and three great grandchildren, Christian Meewes, Nolan Lovelace and Hunter Lovelace.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother, William H. Marten, Jr.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at Cedar Heights Community Presbyterian Church in Cedar Falls with inurnment at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Waterloo. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice. Condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
