BETTY A. GABBARD, 82, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, June 27, 2005 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo, Iowa. She was born May 26, 1923 in Cedar Falls, the daughter of William and Alberta (Byers) Rowzee. Betty married Gene Gabbard on February 24, 1940 in Cedar Falls. She worked in her home and volunteered at her church and at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls. Survivors include her husband, Gene, of Cedar Falls; two sons, William Gabbard of Moline, Illinois and Ronald (Patty) Gabbard of Riverside, California; three daughters, Connie (Ken) Leahy of Waterloo, Judy (Doug) Perkins of Cedar Falls and Pam Gabbard-Fristo of Cedar Falls; eleven grandchildren, Bill Gabbard, Jr., Liz Gabbard, Jason Gabbard, Brian (Tonya) Gabbard, Tim (Angie) Gabbard, Michelle Daubs, Tiffany Gabbard, Matthew (Nicki) Kunkle, Candace Perkins, Tausha Fristo and Josh Fristo; six great-grandchildren, Jordan Gabbard, Alex Sheehan, Cody and Jacob Gabbard, and Britney and Morgan Kunkle; and a brother, Charles Rowzee. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Tamara Perkins; a brother, Donald Rowzee; and a daughter-in-law, Virginia Gabbard. Services were 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 2, 2005 at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with interment at Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls.  A memorial fund will be established.
