Betty J. Fitkin

Betty J. Fitkin 86, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, April 4, 2015, at the Western Home Elizabeth Martin Center. She was born January 31, 1929 in Cedar Falls, Iowa, the daughter of Cecil and Dora (Bruhn) Dunlap. Betty married Richard E. Fitkin June 5, 1949 in Cedar Falls. He preceded her in death October 8, 1995. Betty was an active member of First United Methodist Church, Community Meals, and a volunteer at Country View and was very active in their care review. She is survived by one son, Larry (Debby) Fitkin of Bettendorf, Iowa and one daughter, Sandra Fitkin of Cedar Falls; two grandchildren, Rachel Fitkin and Mark Fitkin, both of Bettendorf; and one brother, Donald Dunlap of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Betty was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at First United Methodist Church with burial at Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be 47:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and one hour before service on Wednesday, at the church.
