Bernice K. Robinson, 88, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, died of natural causes on Monday, September 24, 2007, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. Bernice was born January 3, 1919 in Waverly, Iowa, the daughter of William & Rena (Timion) Miller. She married Floyd E. Robinson on October 30, 1950 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He preceded her in death on November 29, 1994. Bernice was a cook for thirty years, working at both Maxfield's in Waverly, Iowa and the Janesville Café. She also was a certified nurse's aide for eighteen years at Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community in Waverly, retiring in 1981. Bernice was a charter member of the Janesville Women's Bowling Association. She participated in city, state and national bowling tournaments. Bernice enjoyed quilting and embroidery and being with her family. She also enjoyed playing cards and bingo with her friends.

Survivors include her son, Eugene (Virginia) Robinson, of Janesville, Iowa; her daughter, Phyllis (Duane) Eastman, of Cedar Falls; six grandchildren, Vicki Heins, Chris (Angela) Robinson, and Dale (Kim) Eastman, all of Janesville, Phillip (Theresa) Eastman of Atkins, Iowa, and Denton Eastman and Patrick (Holly) Eastman, both of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; seven great grandchildren; her brother, Harold (Jean) Miller, of Winnsboro, Texas, and her brother-in-law, Ray (Joann) Robinson, of Janesville, who made his home with Bernice and her husband Floyd for thirteen years.

Bernice was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 27, 2007, at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home Chapel, with interment at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 4 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and one hour prior to service at the Lutheran Home. A memorial fund will be established at a later date.
