Barbara Kratz

Barbara A. Kratz, 85, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, died Monday, March 26, 2018 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.  Barbara was born March 19, 1933 in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, the daughter of Martin & Ruby (Homan) Krebs.  She married Morris R. Kratz October 14, 1956 at Zion Lutheran Church in Waterloo, Iowa.  Barbara graduated from Waverly High School and also attended Wartburg College for 2 years.  She was a member of the Cedar Falls Woman's Club, Yesterday Heritage Questers, DAR and Nazareth Lutheran Church.  Barbara enjoyed antiquing, genealogy, volunteering at church and the Cedar Falls Historical Society.

Survivors include her husband, Morris Kratz; her son, Jeffrey L. (Debbie Combs) Kratz of Dike, Iowa; her daughter, Trudy (Scott) Sweet of Cedar Falls; a grandson, Zachary Sweet; two brothers, Martin (Christina) Krebs of Santa Barbara, California and Roger (Deborah) Krebs of Salt Lake City, Utah; and three sisters, Lila Mae (Winton) Rohwedder of Valley City, North Dakota, Delores Meyer of Newton, Iowa and Luella (Merle) Puhrman of Omaha, Nebraska.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Rodney, Kratz.

Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Nazareth Lutheran Church with burial at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Waterloo.  Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Friday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home and one hour prior to service time at the church.  Memorials may be directed to Christian Crusader or Nazareth Lutheran Church.  Condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
