Barbara Harder

Barbara J. Harder, 77, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, March 8, 2015, at the Cedar Falls Healthcare Center. She was born September 20, 1937 in Cedar Falls, the daughter of Bernard and Gladys (Keilty) Caley. Barbara married Robert "Bob" Harder on November 24, 1955 in Cedar Falls. He preceded her in death on April 9, 2008. Barbara was a graduate of Cedar Falls High School and the University of Northern Iowa. She worked at John Deere & Company in Waterloo in both the Personnel and Purchasing Depts. Barbara is survived by a son, Steve (Elizabeth) Harder, of Austin, Texas; a daughter, Julie Schafer, of Cedar Falls; three grandchildren, Summer (Todd) Swarts, Jacob Schafer, and Michael Harder; three great grandchildren, Jaden and Maya Swarts, and Aiden Cleveland; a brother, Dick Caley, of Cedar Falls, and three sisters, Jean Stokes and Ruth (Pete) Peterson, both of Cedar Falls, and Lois Roberts of California. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, four brothers, Phillip "Walt", Bill, Donald "Red", and John Caley, and three sisters, Jane Foster, Dorothy Ward and Elizabeth Manley. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 14, 2015, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with burial at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls.
