Averil Lorraine Escher

Lorraine, 94, passed away on December 1, 2025, at Deery Suites of Cedar Falls.  She was born November 11, 1931, at Sartori Hospital in Cedar Falls, daughter of Alsey and Dorothy (Uhl) Fuller. Lorraine was baptized April 9, 1944, at the First Baptist Church in Cedar Falls. She attended Brookside No 9 country school and graduated from Iowa State Teachers College High School in 1949. Lorraine married Orville Stoffregen on April 11, 1952. He died in a farm accident in October 1970. She married Dick Escher on June 6, 1975. He passed away in December 1996.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Orville and Dick; son, Scott (Sara) Stoffregen; siblings: Grace Davidson, Alsey Fuller, Jr, Lois Henderson and Norma Gram; son-in-law, Kevin Pedelty; and granddaughter, Amanda. Survivors include her daughters: Diane (Dave) Caley, Joan Pedelty and Marsha (Dave) Wilkens; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Lorraine's Funeral will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, with Visitation one hour prior at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery of Cedar Falls. Memorials may be directed to Prairie Lakes Church of Cedar Falls.
